Book Review #6 ~ “The One” by Kiera Cass

I finally finished the trilogy of The Selection books with “The One” by Kiera Cass. I don’t necessarily regret reading this series, but there are definitely better ones out there. This book continues to follow America through the Selection, which is a series of trials (don’t know if this is the right word since there is virtually no stakes) to become the new princess of Illea. 

America continues to be annoying during this book, since she just can’t decide if she wants to marry Maxon or not. This trilogy could have definitely just been a duology at most, since these books do tend to get repetitive. But, I’m sure this is more enjoyable for the younger side of young adult readers. 

I rated “The One” 2.75/5 stars and won’t be reading the other books in the Selection universe. This is my 73rd book of 2025. See you soon xx Autumn
