Book Review #17 ~ “Looking for Alaska” by John Green

I finally read one of John Green’s fictional novels and I was not disappointed in the least. I read “Looking for Alaska” and I loved it. This book follows Miles as he goes to a new boarding school and makes friends with Alaska, as well as other characters. With these new friends, Miles discovers new beginnings and gets sucked into their world.

I loved this book. The writing kept me engaged the whole time, and this was a great coming-of-age story. I almost never cry when reading, but I almost did during this book. I loved Alaska’s character and how enticing she was. The only critique I have about this book is the unnecessary ways Alaska’s body is described. I know this is from a teenage boy’s perspective, but I wish that her body was described differently. Other than that, no complaints. I loved this book so much that I didn’t even want to pick up my phone, which is something that doesn’t happen very often.

I rated this book 4.75/5 stars and definitely recommend it. This was my 85th book of 2025. See you soon, xx Autumn
